Accra Hearts of Oak have officially announced the appointment of Mr. Julius Ben Emunah as the club’s new Managing Director, marking a significant addition to the Phobians’ administrative leadership.
Mr. Ben Emunah joins Hearts with vast experience in football administration, having built a solid reputation within Ghana football over the past decade.
His appointment forms part of the club’s broader strategy to strengthen its management structure and enhance professionalism across all departments.
Prior to his move to Hearts, Ben Emunah served as Director of Competitions at the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In that role, he played a key part in the planning, coordination and management of domestic football competitions at the national level, including the Ghana Premier League and other GFA-sanctioned tournaments.
Before becoming Head of Competitions, he worked as National Safety and Security Officer and Club Licensing Manager from 2020 to 2024, overseeing matchday safety operations and ensuring clubs’ compliance with CAF and FIFA licensing regulations.
He also previously served as Regional Administrative Manager for the Western Region Football Association between 2016 and 2020.
Academically, Mr. Ben Emunah holds a Global Master’s degree in Sports Management and Law from ISDE in Barcelona, Spain, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
He recently resigned from his position at the GFA to pursue other opportunities, paving the way for his move to the Phobians.
His appointment is expected to bolster Hearts’ administrative efficiency as the club looks to consolidate its status as one of Ghana’s most successful and storied football institutions.
