The President has asked the Minister for Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta, to act as caretaker Minister at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, until a substantive appointment is made.

Alan Cash resigned from the Ministry with no clear reasons for his decision. It is believed by many his resignation is to focus on his dream of leading the NPP in the 2024 General Election.

After this appointment, some Ghanaians have argued that this will be too much load for the finance minister. Citizens are already calling for his resignation. The president will appoint someone to take the mantle sooner or later.

Alan Kyeremanten has been one of the longest-serving Ministers in the Akufo-Addo-led government. He headed the Ministry from 2017 until his resignation. Before you go, kindly Follow Us for more exclusive news updates
