Osebo Advises Mourners to Be Cautious with Bottled Water at Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s Funeral
Ghanaian fashion entrepreneur and Kristo Asafo Mission member Osebo the Zaraman has urged mourners attending the final funeral rites of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka to exercise caution before drinking any bottled water handed to them at the event.
Speaking to the large gathering at the funeral grounds in Gomoa Mpota, Central Region, Osebo shared what he described as a simple safety check to help people determine whether a bottle of water may have been tampered with.
According to him, anyone offered bottled water should first squeeze the bottle before opening it.
He explained that if the bottle compresses too easily, it should be discarded immediately. However, if it remains firm, he advised mourners to wipe the bottle’s opening with a clean handkerchief before taking a drink.
Osebo said the precaution is necessary because large public gatherings can attract people with harmful intentions, warning that there could be individuals he described as “cobras” among the crowd.
“If you’re given bottled water, squeeze the bottle first. If it compresses easily, throw it away. If it doesn’t, clean the mouth of the bottle before drinking it because there are some people who are cobras,” he said.
Funeral Continues Despite Court Injunction
Meanwhile, the funeral of the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission is proceeding at Gomoa Mpota despite a 10-day interim injunction issued by the Accra High Court.
The court order, granted on July 29, 2026, temporarily restrained former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo from continuing with the funeral arrangements while an ongoing legal dispute over the burial is resolved.
The injunction followed a press conference by Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, who declared the announced funeral date invalid due to unresolved disagreements within the family and indicated that a new date would be announced after the dispute was settled.
Despite the legal challenge, activities at the funeral grounds have continued, with thousands of family members, friends, Kristo Asafo Mission members, and sympathisers arriving in large numbers—many aboard chartered buses—to pay their final respects to the celebrated inventor, industrialist, and spiritual leader, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
